Peter Olajos was born in 1968 in Budapest.
He graduated from the University of Veszprém as a manager/chemical engineer, after that he received a degree in the European Technical University (Paris) and in the Technical University of Budapest as engineer specialising in European Environmental studies.
Since 1994 he has been working as a politician in the Hungarian Democratic Forum (MDF), first as a Parliament -secretary (1994-1996), then the manager of Presidential Office, later from 1998 manager of administration, finally party-manager(1999-2000).
Between 1998 and 2004 a member in the Board of Hungarian Radio delegated by the Parliament.
Since 1996 he has been the leader of the European Integration Office of the Hungarian Democratic Forum. His area of expertise is the environmental protection and environmental policy of the European Union, as well as the renewable resources - he Greennovation.
Since 2001 he has been the editor of "Ma és Holnap" (Today and Tomorrow) an EU magazine on environmental and region development.
In the 2004 Parliamentary elections he got a seat from the MDF list. His main committee in the European Parliament is the Environmental, Public Health, and Food Safety Committee.
He is the deputy of the European Parliament's Sustainable Development Group.
In May 2007 he was elected to be a member of the ac-hoc committee of the European parliament dealing with climate change
